And why do you still have your wedding dress?

Hey, have you ever heard of “Trash the Dress” portrait sessions for brides?  It’s an amazing trend that allows you to take extremely artful images in your wedding dress that you would never really be able to take on your wedding day. Well, I guess you could take them on your wedding day, only if you didn’t care about attending to your guests & don’t go to your reception.

Basically you have your portraits taken in places you’d never really think of going & doing things you’d never consider doing in your bridal gown.   Some brides have rolled around in mud, had paint thrown on their dresses & even went swimming in them!  How cool does that sound?  Ok, we may rethink the mud.   At any rate, I have yet to perform one of these sessions I am hoping to find some volunteers.  All it will cost is your time & your wedding dress.

Currently I am looking for 3 more brides.  Two have already signed on & are very excited about it.  One of which loves her dress, so she decided to get another dress for the shoot.  The other is so tiny (don’t hate her) that she said it’s difficult to sell a size 2 dress, so what else can she do with it?  I’m sure you’re asking “what’s in it for me?”  Well, for me I get to build my portfolio of Trash the Dress portraits.  For you, I will provide you with about 10 images of your choice that you can share online with friends & family.  Of course purchasing prints or even an album is always available, but not necessary.  So if you live in the metro Atlanta area & are interested, please contact me at 404-784-3008 or ayesha@phoartgraphy.com.

About Ayesha

I am a married, mother of one & a passionate photographer. I've been shooting since I was 11 & am mostly self-taught. Attended the Art Institute of Atlanta to further hone my skills & in 2003 decided to start my own photography business, working part-time. In 2005 I was able to start working full-time & I love it. During my growth phase, I was vacillating between the types of photography I wanted to do. After several sessions, I realized that I wanted to specialize in children & couples. I still photograph other subjects, but those two are my favorites. At any rate, it's all about the relationship between my subjects & me & capturing those special moments.
