Trying something new

Photography is a great love of mine and when I get the chance to shoot, I’m in heaven. Recently I had different sort of portrait session with a favorite client/model of mine.  We did some images for my Trash the Dress portfolio.  Some of you may be wondering what the heck that is.  Well depending on how one decides to do it, it could be as bad as it sounds or it could be rather innocuous.  Mine is the innocuous kind.

The premise is taking portraits of a woman in her bridal gown in possible exotic or at least uncommon places.  The images could be glamorous or grungy, it all depends on the photographer’s goal and what the bride is willing to do in or to her dress.

The session I had was a somewhat uncommon place for bridal portraits.  I’m not saying that a bridal shoot has never been done in a forest, but it’s not somewhere you’d normally see a bride.  At any rate, we had a great deal of fun and the trees provided wonderful shade as it was 90+ degrees that day!

Below is a small sampling of what we shot.  I hope to have more posted on my website real soon.  For now enjoy!  Oh, anyone located in metro-Atlanta who has already been married and would like to help me expand this portfolio, please drop me an email or give me a call.  There are still 3 slots left for willing brides!

About Ayesha

I am a married, mother of one & a passionate photographer. I've been shooting since I was 11 & am mostly self-taught. Attended the Art Institute of Atlanta to further hone my skills & in 2003 decided to start my own photography business, working part-time. In 2005 I was able to start working full-time & I love it. During my growth phase, I was vacillating between the types of photography I wanted to do. After several sessions, I realized that I wanted to specialize in children & couples. I still photograph other subjects, but those two are my favorites. At any rate, it's all about the relationship between my subjects & me & capturing those special moments.
